Johann Ernst Eberlin was court organist at the archepiscopal court in Salzburg, Austria in 1726. His music was known and admired by Mozart who studied and copied many of his works. This Toccata and Fugue is an excellent example of the academic or "correct" style of the composition of the period and the mood and lively rhythmic figures are transcribed effectively for brass by David Baldwin.
