The first dance, Kalamatianos, is a festive, fast group dance in 7/8 meter. Zeimpekiko is a slow, solo dance in 9/8 with shifted accents. Karsilmas often closes a belly dancer's show. It is fast in 9/8 with shifted accents and is based on a Greek or middle eastern scale. These pieces are a great way for students to get to know this style.
