Fine addition to the trumpet and piano repertoire by American composer Normand Pepin. Three movement work with rhythmic drive and beautiful lyric moments. The first movement marked vivace is a terrific lively, driving, yet lyrical movement that the piano player will really enjoy. It is in D minor with some extended tonalities. The second movement marked cantabile in D Major is reminiscent of a Schubert piano part with a lovely simple trumpet melody over the top. The third movement is a fast 6/8 with rondo elements. Recommended.
