This five movement work for unaccompanied trumpet is comprised of contrasting moods based on titles taken from the book of Ecclesiastes, one of the Wisdom books of the Bible. The titles for each movement are taken from this book, and the mood of each movement is reflective of the title: Prologue, A Time for Searching, Chasing the Wind, A Time for Loving, A Time for Living. Written for and premiered by Charles Pagnard.
