For ten brass (3 trumpets, 2 horns, 3 trombones, euphonium, tuba). Baroque material in a Romantic setting. Originally for organ, Guilmant borrowed the melodic line from Handel's Lift Up Your Heads, O Ye Gates, and uses counterpoint much like that in Bach's St. Anne Fugue.
