This jazz suite contains five movements: Bald-Faced Boogie, Blue Tuesday, Sunnin' Spot, Crescent City, and Riff-Raff. Blue Tuesday is a slow jazz waltz with some lovely harmonies. Riff-Raff is very driving with palm slaps used for effect. Sunnin' Spot and Crescent City are syncopated and depict pleasant places. The boogie has a melody which appears in tight short units as if trading fours in improvising. A fun work for high school players. Recommended.
