The famous trombone solo by Sousa bandsman Arthur Pryor, arranged by William Picher for solo trombone accompanied by two trumpets, horn and tuba. Pryor was one of the greatest trombone virtuosos of his time. He helped to define the style of brass playing and composition during the early decades of the 20th century. This arrangement features solo trombone accompanied by the rest of the group. The solo part remains largely as originally published by Carl Fischer in 1939. This arrangement was written for Mark Manduca to perform at Boston University in 1979. A terrific encore or trombone feature for your next brass quintet concert!
