Challenging, contemporary work composed by American composer Terrance White with a quasi-rondo form in mind. ...contains a nice variety of rhythmic gestures, lyrical statements and declamatory passages. Rhythmic and melodic motives are utilized against polytonal harmonies to provide the thematic materials. The use of a rhythmic pattern 3:3:2 is present throughout the piece through contrapuntal devices. Mr. White demonstrates his familiarity with the brass instruments.
