This 3-movement work is an excellent program piece for a young ensemble. The movements, Winton Waltz, Elmwood Elegy, and Monroe March, are three streets that intersect in a triangle to form 12 corners! The first movement, Winton Waltz is fast in 3/4 time and in the key of G. The second movement is Elmwood Energy and is an andante in 4/4 time. The third, Monroe March is in cut time and the key of D. The fastest rhythmic value is the eighth note.
